Don't let your song stay bottled up inside of you ...Kathi Suprata made a huge impact on me earlier this year when she sang the “What Could Have Been Blues” at at intimate dinner event I was hosting for among my favorite clients. The joy she expressed as she delivered her message got me straight to the heart. Sadly, she passed away a few months ago from cancer.  It was just a few months, and then …. gone.

I blogged about the impact she made in an earlier blog post because it was my sincere hope that luminaries in my industry would be inspired to bring her to perform on their stages.  I wanted to do my part to make sure her message was heard. But her cancer had other plans. She didn't feel well enough to perform. Don't let your song stay bottled up inside of you ...

Her love of music was so powerful, and she ignited something in me to rediscover my own joy in writing lyrics and collaborating with others to give them voice.

In the wee hours one evening, I wrote lyrics to the “Boring Bio Blues.” I shared the words with her and asked if she could find the strength to sing them.

She wasn't feeling well, but she told me the words lifted her spirits. That felt like a gift for us both.

That's when I reached out to Dan Wingard and asked him if he would put the words to music. Sometimes, you ask for what you want and get what you ask for, and it's just a beautiful thing. He performed the song at another of my intimate dinner events.

Here are the lyrics.

What's my ultimate message here?

Don't let your song stay bottled up inside of you. Your audience needs your message, and there is no time to waste.
