I have been working on a new speech, thanks to the fabulous lessons I learned at Patricia Fripp’s Speaking School. I can’t wait to take it out for a spin. Here’s the introduction I am working on to capture your interest…

Would it surprise you to learn that a lollipop and a letter I wrote during the summer of 1969 showed me a path to my life’s work  It’s true!  I was an eight-year-old girl who watched more than my share of TV commercials.  One hot summer’s day in July, I spent the better part of a lazy Saturday afternoon figuring out how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.  And then I penned a letter to the CEO of Tootsie, Inc. in my best cursive and told him what I knew.  A few weeks later, I received an award certificate from the CEO that read, “Few people on Earth know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a  Tootsie Pop.   This certificate belongs to one of the few who do.”  My message was heard, and I was thrilled beyond words.  I knew right then and there that using my writing skills to invite action, recognition, and results would be my life’s work.  And that has been the path I have traveled since as a work-in-the-trenches publicist working on behalf of million dollar companies, hobby entrepreneurs, and others who want their voices to be heard.  In the next 40 minutes, you will learn four simple, affordable, and powerful ways you can attract recognition, attention, and buzz for your business on a do-it-yourself basis so you can be recognized for you winning ways through the power of free publicity.  You can get known as an expert and invite unlimited prospects to fuel your growth and prosperity by applying these simple methods to your advantage.  It’s just a matter of getting into consistent, inspired action in four key ways….And, if you want to know how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, I’ll never tell.

If you want to know the four key ways and you are a designer to the trade, sign up for this November 20 workshop.  You’ll be glad that you did!

And, if you have any feedback about my speech introduction, I am all ears.  Write in and tell me what you think and let me know if I have captured your interest.   More importantly, how are you introducing others to what you have to say?  Have you found the perfect, engaging story to set the tone for a fabulous, win-win conversation?  Think about that and see what magic you can manifest as you tell your own memorable story that reflects in a winning way on how you serve the marketplace.
