Relationship Marketing Specialist Mari Smith spoke about the power and influence of social networking last night at the Total Networking Seattle event at Qwest Field to an appreciative crowd of 300 women business owners. During her presentation, she referenced a video on YouTube called “Social Media Revolution.” It is absolutely riveting. Here is the link to make it easy to tune in. She said that social media has created a fundamental shift in the way we communicate and do business. This video makes that case. Watch it, and tell me what you think. Thanks Mari for a fabulous, engaging, and content-rich presentation that is sure to inspire many into powerful, new actions to connect in new ways and enjoy what you refer to as radical strategic visibility.
Social media is here to stay, but most service businesses are going to make or break themselves based on one-on-one relationships. No amount of technology will change that people do business with people they like and respect.
Hi Jason,
Thanks for reading this post and commenting. Of course, I agree with you.
I do marvel at the influence social media has across the generations and the speed at which it is growing.
And, I’ve met some pretty fabulous people by reading quality blogs and connecting with the talented people who blog and post on forums.
The good news is that many have become co-collaborators, clients, and friends. It’s exciting and a bit intoxicating at times, especially for someone who got her start wanting to get seen, heard, and celebrated in my own backyard.
Hurry for the World Wide Web, social media, and the power of connecting one-on-one. It’s all good.
Nancy
