Women in Business Forum: Excelling in a Changing World –

Half-day Forum set for March 26 from 7:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

BELLEVUE – The Bellevue Chamber’s 2008 Women in Business Forum geared toward women excelling in a changing world is set for Wednesday, March 26 at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. Come and explore this half-day forum offering key tools, resources, and information for women business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals, and those who do business with them. In addition, expand your network to include some of the Northwest’s premier and most influential women.

Dynamic keynote speakers and expert advisors will cover a variety of topics for business success, including generational leadership, public relations, recognizing and retaining top talent, reinventing your business, effective networking, creative thinking and more. Plus, visit over 30 onsite exhibitors highlighting services and products for business and professional women.

The cost to attend this half-day forum is $95 for Bellevue Chamber members, $125 for non-members. Corporate tables are available. Bea Fields, President of Bea Fields Company, will kick off the forum with Leading at the Speed of Y. Fields is the Founder of Five Star Leader Coaching and Training, a leadership consulting firm currently serving over 800 clients world-wide. Her latest book, Millennial Leaders: Success Stories From Today’s Most Brilliant Generation Y Leaders, explores and analyzes Generation Y – the young adults currently between the ages of 18 and 30 – from a socio-economic standpoint. The book highlights 25 members of this generation who have already made a name for themselves, and provides crucial insights for business and political leaders seeking to tap into this demographic.

Mona Locke, Executive Director for Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Puget Sound will keynote the luncheon, and highlight Women Making a Difference. During her eight-year term as Washington’s 20th First Lady, Locke was a dynamic champion for early learning as well as other issues related to children and families. In 2007, Mona joined the Puget Sound affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation as its Executive Director. She is also an Emmy-nominated, award-winning journalist, who following her tenure as first lady, worked as an anchor/reporter for KIRO 7 documentaries and newscasts.

Taking off from ABC’s hit daytime show The View, the Women in Business forum will also highlight a panel of local women leaders, creating Bellevue’s own “Vue.” The panel will discuss the opportunities for women to succeed in a changing world.
