Yesterday’s post about what’s out and what’s in for 2009 made mention that Bush is out and Barack Obama is in for 2009.  Already, I’ve learned about Seattle area business leaders who are doing something positive to make the most of this important transition in our nation and to invite concerned Puget Sound voices to participate and be heard.

Karl Bischoff and Leslie Phinney, president and CEO of Phinney Bischoff Design House, have scheduled an Ideation Lab for January 14 at which concerned Northwest citizens can share their ideas about what is next for Obama and America.  An Ideation Lab is a facilitated brainstorming session during which the best ideas are brought forth to solve important problems with impact, speed, and creativity.  Transparency and collaboration are essential ingredients to the success of these sessions.

Bischoff says that Step One was electing Obama to the White House.  Step Two is their initiative to play a part in what’s next. Phinney and Bischoff are gathering a group of smart, influential, thoughtful, and passionate people from sectors of business, government, spiritual, marketing, and media — Republicans, Democrats, and Independents — to come together to brainstorm about ideas to move America forward.  With no preconceived notions, the intention is to invite ideas and discover together the best ways to proceed.   The more diverse and thoughtful the contributors, the better.

If you want to contribute to the conversation and be a part of the solution, you can register to attend at this link. Seating is limited, and online registration is essential so the folks at PBDH know whether or not to schedule additional sessions. If you know of others who can add value to this conversation, please spread the word.
